About Rock School Experience

Phil Taylor has been a keen musician for 20 years and has been playing guitars in covers bands since his school days. At the age of 16, Phil attended a week long residential summer rock school where he had the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to play with some famous musicians of the day.

Years later after playing live, Phil wondered whether it might be possible to make a passable band out of complete amateurs in just one day. After some experiments with some willing volunteers, the first Rock School Experience package was put together early in 2006.

After recruiting the help of event organiser Laura Etherington, Rock School Experience launched in Summer 2006 as a fully fledged new team building event.

About Laura Etherington

Laura Etherington - Managing Director

Laura is an experienced events organiser and is in charge of Rock School Experience.

What part do you like most about Rock School Experience?
Seeing how exhilarated people are at the end of the day... After all the work you've put in, it's at that point where you know you've done a good job!

What part don't you like?
It would have to be the packing away at the end.

What's your favorite instrument on the day?
Without a doubt, the drums... they're by far the most popular instrument with our female guests for some reason!

About Phil Taylor

Phil Taylor - Technical Director

Phil is responsible for all the technology and equipment behind each Rock School Experience. Phil is based in Henley-on-Thames, west of London.

What part do you like most about Rock School Experience?
The look on people's faces when the band first rehearses before the grand finale. The sudden realisation that they really can do something brand new is just great to see..

What part don't you like?
It would have to be packing away the equipment - sadly, Rock School Experience doesn't yet come with roadies...

What's your favorite instrument on the day?
I'd have to say guitar, as that's what I teach, but secretly I'd love to be a singer!
